State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

The exhibition of paintings and drawing by Anatoliy Davidov  will be opened on September 10,  2015 in Izborsk in merchant Belyanin’s house (Pechorskaya str., 39). The exhibition is organized in cooperation with St. Petersburg Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts. 

Anatoliy Zakharyevich Davidov (1923 – 2009) is an Honored Artists of Russian Federation, a drawing artist, a master of portrait, landscape and still life.  He was born on November 5, 1923 in Petrograd. He took his first art lessons from a famous artist Y.Brovar, who was a student of A. Kuindzhi.  Later he got artistic education in the Vasileostrovskiy youth center and in the Art school at the Academy of Arts. He participated in the Great patriotic War in 1943-1945 and was awarded several orders and medals.  

After the end of the war Anatoliy Davidov entered the Art Faculty of Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after Ilya Repin. He graduated this educational institution with high honors. The artist used to work in many genres: poster, satire, illustrations, lithography, etching, drawing and painting.  Anatoliy Davidov participated in over 60 exhibitions.  

Paintings and drawing by Anatoliy Davidov are well known all around the world, many of them belong to the museum collections in Russia and abroad.

The Izborsk exhibition features portraits: “Pushkin”, “Maya Plisetskaya”, “An unknown woman”, “Marina Tsvetayeva”, “Anna Akhmatova” and other portraits, still life and landscape paintings.
