State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

20 December 2013

State Historical-Architectural and Nature-Landscape Museum-Reserve “Izborsk” invites everyone to visit the opening of the exhibition “Dmitriy Sergeyevich Kondratyev (1928-2008) – an artist from Novgorod the Great” on December 20, 2013. The event will take place at 15.00 in merchant Belyaev’s house (the address: Pechorskaya str., 39). Dmitriy Kondratyev was a talented artist, a participant of many artistic exhibitions in Russia and abroad. He did not bind himself to one artistic genre, working in various techniques. He fruitfully worked in drawing, illustration, portrait genres, but, undoubtedly, painting was his main devotion and he honestly and sincerely was committed to it. The artist’s paintings give esthetic pleasure, they are deep in meaning, make one think, feel, try to «decipher» them, and they always stay interesting, exciting and magnetic. Certain naivete, frankness, the feeling of life are inherent in the images, created by the artist. Dmitriy Kondratyev painted portraits of historical people with pleasure. The artist was especially drawn to painting the images of ancient Russian towns. He dedicated one of his paintings to Izborsk. The exhibition is open daily from 10.00 to 17.00.
