State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

Izborsk State Museum Reserve would like to congratulate everybody on the beginning of the new school year and invite to come to Izborsk to have a great time, playing games we organise.

"The Chronicle of Ancient Town of Izborsk" is a game for schoolchildren (3rd-7th grades). The game lasting 60 minutes is organized in merchant Anisimov's house (Pechorskaya art., 41) in the exhibition room entitled "The Chronicle of Ancient Town of Izborsk: from the Beginning of Russia to the Poltava Battle".

"Travelling from Izborsk to Tsargrad" is a game for schoolchildren (5th-9th grades), lasting 60 minutes. It is organized in merchant Anisimov's house (Pechorskaya str., 41a) in the exhibition room entitled "The Chronicle of Ancient town of Izborsk: from the Beginning of Russia to the Poltava Battle". It is also possible to play the game outside, inside Izborsk fortress.

"Hanseatic Travel" is a game, lasting 60 minutes, that enables the participants to feel themselves Hanseatic merchants and "travel" by sea to Hanseatic towns of Northern Europe.

"Making New Discoveries" is a game for schoolchildren (1st-5th grades), lasting 60 minutes, that is organised in Izborsk fortress or in the historical exhibition room of Izborsk Museum "The Chronicle of Ancient town of Izborsk: from the Beginning of Russia to the Poltava Battle".

"An Izborsk House and Everything Inside" is a game for schoolchildren (1st-4th grades), lasting 60 minutes, that is organised in merchant Shvedov's house (Pechorskaya str., 32) in the ethnographic exhibition room "Russian and Seto people. Common Land, Common History".

A master class in printing patterns on cloth, lasting 1 hour, will enable you to make a unique souvenir with your own hands.  You will also be able to admire the craftsmanship and design of the exhibit items at the exhibition in merchant Shvedov's house: blue linen table cloths with white patterns on them, towels, old sarafans. They will tell you about the diligence, resourcefulness and world perception of our ancestors. 

"Visiting Grandmother Kulaots" is a captivating travel to Seto People Homestead Museum, where Seto People culture, traditions and cuisine are carefully preserved. You will be able to try and learn how to cook dishes of traditional Seto People cuisine. Any gourmet will enjoy simple and at the same time nourishing dishes. Seto People Homestead Museum is located in Sigovo Village of Pechory district. The duration of the programme is 60 minutes.
