State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

The concert will take place on March 28 in the musical parlour of the Museum of History of Pechory at 18.00 p.m.

The teachers of Pskov Musical college of Arts named after Modest Musorgskiy will perform one of his most popular music pieces, suite “Pictures at an Exhibition”. The concert will be dedicated to the 180-th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

This piano cycle is an original music piece that has no analogues. It is performed by piano players from all over the world. However, this piece is often performed in different arrangements including the arrangements for a symphony orchestra.

A young Pskov composer Boris Fyodorov has created his own original arrangement for the music piece, where in addition to the piano one can hear the guitar, the chromatic accordion and the accordion.

Laureates of all Russian competitions will take part in the concert: Georgiy Greben (the guitar), Ekaterina Dolgina (the accordion), Roman Elanskov (the chromatic accordion), Anna Garanova and Valeria Duniushkina (the piano). A music historian Irina Sedyakova will get the audience acquainted with the peculiarities of the composer’s music, that has become a symbol of movement “to the new shores”.
