23 November 2018

Dear Guests of Izborsk State Museum Reserve,

We would like to invite you to attend the opening of the exhibition of photographs by Pavel Aleksandrovich Tomasov on November 23 at 15.00 in the Museum of History of Pechory. The exhibition is organized in the framework of the XIV-th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Izborsk and its Vicinities”.

The exhibition will feature about 40 photographs of landscapes.

Pavel Aleksandrovich Tomasov (1947-2018) – a talented master of photography and a great friend of the Museum took part in many exhibitions and conferences organized by the Museum.

Pskov and its vicinities occupied a great role in the artist’s creative work. Ancient Izborsk land was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him. Pavel Aleksandrovich was interested in everything – the beauty of nature, the monuments of architecture, the impregnable walls of ancient fortresses, orthodox churches. Pavel Aleksandrovich made a series of landscape photographs of Pechory, Izborsk and their vicinities.

Over 2600 photographs in digital form that he presented to the Museum have become part of the Museum’s collection.

To see the photographs by Pavel Aleksandrovich Tomasov, please come to the Museum of History of Pechory (Mezhdunarodnaya str. 6) and to Merchant’s Belyanin’s House (Izborsk, Pechorskaya str.,39).
