State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

25 January 2018

Every country of the world has a writer whose name is associated with it. In Russia it is Alexander Pushkin. Every year Russian people honor the poet’s memory on February 10, when he died after having been deadly wounded at a duel. To do that they gather in schools, universities, concert halls and museums.

To pay our respect to Alexander Pushkin we invite you to come to the Museum of History of Pechory on February 1 at 17.30 p.m. to enjoy a concert “Dedications to the Muses”. It is an author's project of Tatiana Lapteva, a composer and musicologist from Pskov who has set to music many of Pushkin’s poems.

Many composers of the 19th and 20th century set poems of Alexander Pushkin to music. Tatiana Lapteva has done it too. Most of her music that will be performed at the concert is songs and romances based on the poems of Pushkin that he dedicated to beautiful women - his own contemporaries.

A new exhibition of objects from the collection of Izborsk Museum Reserve, dedicated to the memory of Pushkin has recently opened in the Museum of History of Pechory. The exhibition features the works of graphic art created by Pavel Bunin. Among them are illustrations to Alexander Pushkin’s works.

Come to the Museum of History of Pechory, you will find it interesting!
