State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

An exhibition entitled The Town of St. Nicholas will open in Izborsk in Merchant Belyanin’s House (Pechorskaya 39) on December 19 at 14.00 p.m.  We would like to invite everybody to attend the opening of the exhibition and see the paintings and drawings created by Alexander Konstantinovich Krylov, an Honored Artist of Russia, professor, the head of Church and Historical Painting Workshop of St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture, named after I.E.Repin.

Alexander Konstantinovich Krylov was born in Leningrad in 1945. In 1963 he graduated from Leningrad Art School, a division of the Academy of Arts.  Alexander Konstantinovich performed his military service in the Russian Baltic Fleet. In 1973 he finished the Academy of Arts (the Monumental Painting Workshop) and completed a postgraduate course. Since 1974 Alexander Konstantinovich has been teaching at the Academy of Arts.

Alexander Konstantinovich has dedicated his life to studying and preservation of monuments of Russian culture.

The exhibition features over 30 paintings and drawings, dedicated to ancient Izborsk.
