State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

An exhibition entitled Invincible Beauty will open in the Museum of History of Pechory on March 24. The exhibition will feature copies of frescoes created by the students St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture who are studying church and historical painting under the expert supervision of Professor A. K. Krylov. 

Alexander Konstantinovich Krylov – is a member of the Artists' Union of Russia, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, a participant of numerous exhibitions organized in Russia and abroad, Professor, over 20 years supervising the Workshop of Church and Historical Painting in St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture. Alexander Krylov has been studying and copying ancient Russian frescoes since 1970, following in the steps of Nikolai Rerikh in the sphere of studying and preservation of ancient Russian art.   

Under the supervision of Alexander Konstantinovich the students of the workshop create copies of frescoes which decorate the walls of numerous ancient churches in Russia. The exhibition features copies of frescoes of The Assumption Church of Moscow Kremlin, the Church of Theodore Stratelates of Ipatiev Monastery, The Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of Snetogorskiy Monastery in Pskov, the Church of the Image of Our Savior Not Made by Hands in Nikolo-Zabolotye Village, The Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Ferapontovo Village and many other churches. These copies of frescoes will soon become part of the collection of Pskov Museum Reserve where a Museum Frescoes is going to be created.   

Alexander Konstantinovich Krylov is planning to come to the exhibition’s opening.
